This season has been out of this world so far! So far we have competed at three district events.

Our first event was the Tippecanoe District Event in Indiana as a practice competition. We were ranked ten at the end of qualification matches and were the seventh alliance captain. Our team chose Team 1741: Red Alert and Team 2171: RoboDogs. We made it to the semi-finals but ended up having a mechanical problem, causing the alliance to be knocked out of the competition. The team still was able to get the Creativity Award due to our unique high/low goal shooter design.

With some fixes made to Catalina, we competed at the Lansing/Mason District Event. Catalina worked better than we had expected and we were the second alliance captain. Our picks were Team 2959: Robotarians and Team 5502: Cobrots. Our alliance fought our way to the winner's circle. Along with bringing home a blue banner, our team received the Excellence in Engineering Award.

Next, our team competed at the East Kentwood District Event. After eighty matches of qualifications, our team found itself as the second alliance captain again. Our team chose Team 2771: Code Red Robotics/Stray Dogs and Team 4409: Ground Zero to join us. In the quarterfinals, our alliance put up a score of 221 points. This was a new world record! The alliance followed this feat with a blue banner. Our team also was awarded the Innovation in Control Award due to our high goal autonomous mode.

With three awards and two district wins, our team has qualified for the state championship. You can find videos of all of these events at https://www.youtube.com/user/cometsrobotics
